OLD DOG NEW TRICKS
In this presentation, I talk about my journey into the agile world as a context for behavior change. I pull concepts for achieving behavior change from Tiny Habits and Atomic Habits. The session is meant to be informative and interactive, with attendees having the opportunity to identify a behavior they want to change and use information & references they could use for experimentation.
With over 25 years of IT experience in many different roles, I came to agile very late in life. As a command and control manager, when our organization launched Agile Transformation in 2018, I quickly realized things needed to change. Our partner hammered the 'Agile is a Mindset' mantra. Old habits die hard. I first had to understand where I was, then think about where I wanted to be. I had to take an intentional approach to change behaviors that were in line with an Agile Mindset.
