AgileIndy is completely run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our Board Members are responsible for overseeing the business affairs of the organization. These responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, overseeing resources and relationships, and managing the reputation of the organization.

Jennifer Benak

President


Jennifer is an IT Leader with over 25 years of experience in IT Operations, Application Development, Project Management, and Product Development. She has a proven track record of successfully leading project teams, facilitating product development, coaching individuals and teams, and getting results. She is passionate about coaching teams to maximize performance and leading technology driven organizations to success.
Currently, Jennifer is the Assistant Director for IT Administration at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, IN. She serves several global and co-located Scrum Teams, both supporting existing applications along with delivering new software solutions. Jennifer also does freelance work for Pearson Education where she authors content for eLearning courses. 

Jennifer has been an active member of AgileIndy since 2013. She was elected to the board in 2016, was Vice Chair from 2017 to 2023, and President from 2023 to date. Jennifer has also been a member of AgileCincy since 2016 and served on the board for two years. She continues to serve as the Social Media Advisor for AgileCincy.



Janet Ziems

Vice President


Janet is an accomplished professional with over 20 years of expertise in guiding software development teams.  She began her career as a developer and quickly took on additional team and personnel leadership responsibilities.  She excels at helping teams work together to find solutions to complex problems.  Janet has a passion for bringing out the best in each team member, driving collective success.

Janet joined AgileIndy in 2013 to expand her knowledge of agile principles and learn methods for teams to apply the principles to their work.  Since 2018 she’s chaired the Event Logistics Team for the annual AgileIndy Conference and recently also led the Speaker Team for the conference.  She was voted onto the AgileIndy Board in 2023 and is currently Vice President.



Benjamin Horsman

Treasurer


Senior-level IT Consultant with a proven track record of solving complex business problems, maximizing efficiency, and consistently delivering results. He brings over a decade's worth of hands-on experience to the table, working primarily as a Senior Business Analyst. He has expertise in various domains including: Healthcare, Insurance, and Manufacturing. Ben currently holds four professional certifications including my Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) and Professional Scrum Master (PSM) from Scrum.org.

Ben's goal on every project is to maximize business value through aggressive strategies to enhance organizational efficiency, cut costs, and leverage new technologies. He is well versed in both traditional requirements gathering and more agile based approaches, such as creating a Product Backlog and writing User Stories. In addition to Business Analysis, I have experience in Project Management, Systems Analysis, and UI/UX.



Lori Wheeler

Secretary


Lori Wheeler has more than 25 years of experience in Information Technology.  Having been part of agile transformations since 2015, she has a passion for mentoring individuals in efforts to experience levels of improvement by looking at product delivery in a whole new way.  She has performed the roles of Scrum Master, Product Owner, Project Manager, and Business Analyst in complex initiatives.

Lori's educational background in Psychology from Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis.  Additionally, Lori’s certifications include Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, and SAFe SA 5.0 certifications. Currently, Lori serves as a Principal Consultant and Team Manager at Moser Consulting in Indianapolis. In this role, she leverages her experience to drive success and innovation. Beyond her technical and managerial expertise, Lori is also a certified life coach, a role that fills her personal and professional development, both for herself and others.
