Robert’s diverse background gives him a unique viewpoint as reflected in his talk “The Maturity of Agile,” where he seeks to enlighten, embolden and engage. Where are we in this Agile evolution? What are the problems and solutions and where is Agile going next? At the core of its nature, Agile refers to feedback loops: Inspect and Adapt and continuous improvement, and so on. As we analyze how we work and how successful we are, we must utilize this feedback. This talk not only discusses some of that feedback but acts as a lightning rod; we have aligned to Agile as our path and it is often explained as being Agile, rather than doing Agile. However, whilst that is a teachable moment, we need to talk about how we can be Agile more of the time.
Less process, more wisdom! Genuine agility is enormously effective in helping us achieve our dreams. The trouble is, Agile has grown into a complex tangle of roles and rituals, frameworks and tools, processes and certifications. We need a return to simplicity. Modern Agile is here to help.

Testers are expected to come up with lot of artifacts during the testing process. The traditional test artifacts are time intensive and bulky; their structure does not support Agile approach of software development. Because Agile testers work in highly compressed test execution cycles, stakeholders always complain that testing is a bottleneck and ask to cut down the number of testing activities or the time allocated for testing. If you spend too much time in documentation, you may end up with less time to do actual testing. Documentation ! = testing.
Mindmapping is a cognitive activity that triggers creative ideas and reduces waste by avoiding extensive formats for test documentation. Testers can use this smart technique to create Lean test artifacts from test plan to test report. These Lean test artifacts convey information using fewer, less verbose, details. They save tremendous amounts of time usually involved in writing test documentation. Applying the Lean approach means a reduction in waste and an amplification or your learning.
